The Roundup has once again sent questionnaires to every local candidate running for public office in this year’s election. In an effort to properly inform voters, their answers are unedited. The goal is to give the candidates the opportunity to offer their thoughts on issues directly to their constitutes. In return, it gives voters the opportunity to formulate their own decisions on what their candidates’ have to say.

Name: Andrew Klimkoski

Candidate For: Board of Finance

Age: 53

Occupation: Financial Services

Community involvement:  Past Treasurer/Leader – Burlington Boy Scout Troop 23

Political experience:  Served 8 years on Board of Finance currently holds Secretary position

What motivates you to run for office? Name three priorities and how you will achieve them.

(1) Burlington’s Board of Finance functions as a non-partisan team and I would work to maintain this productive environment by listening to the voices of the other members on the Board;

(2) Support measures that enhance the quality of life for Town residents through budgetary funding for public safety, senior services, roads, parks and recreation, and other services residents have come to expect.

(3) Continue efforts to plan for Town needs 5-10 years out and set aside incremental reserve funding through annual Town budgets for such needs which would not cause a short-term adverse impact on taxes when major capital expenditures become necessary.
