The City of Bristol is expanding its leaf collection services to assist local residents with fall leaf cleanup. This year, Public Works will begin leaf collection on Monday, October 28 and continue through December 13, 2019 (weather permitting).

Leaves must be bagged in brown biodegradable bags, which are available at local hardware or home improvement stores. Bags containing branches, rocks, and/or dirt are not permitted and will not be collected by Public Works crews.

For residents who subscribe to the ‘green barrel’ yard waste service, this service will also be extended to December 13.

This year Bristol residents will have the opportunity to bring their leaf bags only to the Transfer Station located at 685 Lake Avenue each Saturday during November from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A valid driver’s license will be required for confirmation of residency. There is no charge for this and you do not need a Transfer Station Pass.

For more information, please contact the Department of Public Works at 860-584-6125, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the most updated information follow us on social media or view our website: http://www.bristolct.gov/220/Public-Works
