On Friday, October 5th Shepard Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. held its annual gala event to a sold-out crowd of friends – both old and new at Chippanee Country Club. Farm tours were available before the event, and dozens of supporters met the herd of therapy horses and took-in all the facility upgrades and improvements at the farm over the past year.

The fun-themed ‘Wine &Whiskey’ event raised over $30,000 to support the center’s programs, horses and facilities. Vice-President of the Board, Larry Gonzalez stated “The generosity of the friends of Shepard Meadows will go far in supporting our new Horsemanship Program for Youth-at-risk.

The program was piloted this summer and has tripled in size this fall. Our goal is to fully fund this program so that participants through social service agencies can attend at no cost to them.”

The mission of Shepard Meadows is to support the growth and well-being of all individuals, including those with special needs, by providing Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT), in a safe and professional environment.
