The Bristol Police Department recognized multiple officers and Police Explorers at an awards ceremony on Tuesday 9/17. They are as follows: 

The Bristol police department members of the Central Region Emergency Response Team. These officers placed first overall at the 2019 CT SWAT Challenge competition. The multiple day event is comprised of dozens of teams from throughout the nation. They received a letter of commendation. 

The Bristol Police Explorers who aided in the logistics, training, and preparation for the SWAT challenge. They received a letter of commendation. 

Officer Pollock received a Life Saving award for saving a choking person. 

Officers Rivera and Szymczak received a Life Saving award for saving a person in cardiac arrest. 

Detective Kulig received a Life Saving award for saving a severely injured victim in a car accident. 

Officer Verillo received a letter of commendation for assisting a person in medical distress.
