North America is home to more than 400 amusement parks and attractions attracting some 375 million visitors annually, according to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.

That’s an overwhelming number of options when faced with planning that perfect family vacation. To make it easier, 10Best asked our readers to vote for their favorite parks across the continent.

Theme park industry experts say, Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio is the “best amusement park” in America for 2019.

Cedar Point is located on a Lake Erie Peninsula and has 18 thrilling roller coasters among other rides. One crowd favorite is the carousel, which is one of the only operating D.C. Muller carousels in the world.

The park opened up back in 1870 making it the second oldest operating amusement park in North America behind Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut.

The top 10 winners in the category Best Amusement Park are as follows:

  1. Cedar Point – Sandusky, Ohio
  2. Knoebels – Elysburg
  3. Kings Island – Mason, Ohio
  4. Silver Dollar City – Branson, Mo.
  5. Dollywood – Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
  6. Six Flags Great Adventure – Jackson, N.J.
  7. SeaWorld Orlando – Orlando
  8. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay – Tampa
  9. Hersheypark – Hershey, Penn.
  10. Busch Gardens Williamsburg – Williamsburg, Va.

A panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to picked the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote.
