Dungarvin Connecticut will be hosting a Career Fair Tuesday, March 26th from 9am – 2pm at their Rocky Hill office for Direct Support professionals.
Dungarvin offers individualized day and residential services to individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities, mental health disabilities, behavioral challenges, traumatic/ acquired brain Injuries, significant medical challenges and to, children & their families.
As a Direct Support Professional, you will spend most of your shift in direct contact with the people who need assistance in group homes.
Most of these individuals need assistance with a variety of day-to-day events such as: household chores, getting ready for work, going out and having fun with friends and family, meeting new people and being active members in community organizations and places of worship, running errands like going to the bank, the doctor, or the grocery store, or performing work tasks.
Others need significant daily assistance with activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Specific duties will vary, depending on the location, the people supported and the hours you would work.
The requirements for getting a job in direct support are not many. In order to become a Dungarvin employee, you must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess basic computer skills. You will also need an acceptable criminal background check, a valid driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record.

PARIS – A French centenarian is suspected of strangling and bludgeoning her 92-year-old neighbor to death.
