Local Nonprofit Tackling Homelessness and Poverty Appoints New Board Member

Jessica Fritz Aguiar

For Goodness Sake, a local 501c3 nonprofit that provides donated furniture and household goods to individuals and families struggling with homelessness, poverty, and other severe life challenges, has appointed local attorney Jessica Fritz Aguiar to its Board of Directors.

Kendra Morales, President and Executive Director of For Goodness Sake, stated, “Jessica is a passionate supporter of For Goodness Sake, and we wanted to bring that passion and her amazing talents to the Board. We’ve just completed developing our Five-Year Strategic Plan, and Jessica’s professionalism, skills as an attorney, and, most importantly, her dedication to For Goodness Sake and our mission, are just what we need to move the organization forward and achieve the goals laid out in our plan.”

Jessica Fritz Aguiar is a mother of four and a Senior Claims Analyst with the Employment Practices Liability Group at Allied World Insurance Company in Farmington, Connecticut, where her work focuses on all aspects of employment law.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Government from Cornell University and from Boston University School of Law, cum laude, and is a member of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York State Bars.

She is a regular speaker and commentator at employment law seminars and conferences.  Ms. Fritz Aguiar is a member of her office’s Giving Committee and reads to elementary school children in New Britain with the Read to a Child Program each week.

In her spare time, Ms. Fritz Aguiar also enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid reader and true crime fan.

For Goodness Sake’s mission is to restore dignity and independence to people struggling with homelessness, poverty, and other severe life challenges by providing them with the furniture and basic household goods they need to make their house into a home.

For Goodness Sake is a 100% volunteer-run furniture bank, partnering with over 40 local organizations to reach people throughout central Connecticut. For Goodness Sake has helped nearly 1,000 clients since it was founded in 2013.

Clients include people moving into their first apartment from being on the streets, families moving out of homeless shelters, victims of domestic violence, homeless veterans, and people that are homeless and in need of support for a variety of other reasons.
