Meet The Roundup’s 2018 Best Pet Contest Finalists:

Lexi’s pet parent Chelsey said:

My dog Lexi is the best pet because she shows everyone she meets unconditional love. Not to mention she puts a smile on everyone’s face. It might be her squishy face everyone thinks is funny or her grumpy resting look. She loves life and makes me love life even more. She loves everyone she meets! With everything that goes on in the world today I’m glad she can make me smile along with others. That is why Lexii is the best pet.”

China’s pet parent Francis said:

China came to about 3 years ago. She had just turned 2 and we were told she was playful and lovable. The plane ride must have been thematic because none of these traits were noticeable in her behavior. She hides under tables and wouldn’t come near me.  She would shiver and run away from me. She would eat when I was near. This went on for a long time and I never thought there would ever be any kind of relationship between the two of us. However, It required a lot of patience, but little by little I begin to gain her trust. The turning point came about a year and a half after we got her when we were at the beach. I was tossing a stick between myself and my spouse when all of a sudden she joined us. She went back-and-forth between the two of us and then actually came up to me. Finally, the ice was broken and she became a part of our family. I can’t think of life without her since it was so hard to make a friend of her. She has become what she was described as being, lovable and playful.”

Frankie’s pet parent Debbie said:

My father passed away in February of this year! His name was Francis Joseph, I felt a tremendous void after he passed, even though the last 7 years of his life was spent in a nursing home, suffering from dementia/Alzheimer’s, he loved animals so much. My time and devotion were to him, protecting and watching over him, is his voice! I decided to get a beagle puppy, on August 4, and named him Frankie… Frankie J. My pet has brought me laughter and happiness in just a few short weeks that we’ve had him. He even reminds me of my Dad who had a peaceful, calming effect!  His eyes look like my dad’s, he loves the beach like my dad did. If late getting from his crate he barks right in your face (reminds me as if my dad would have given me heck!) yelling at me for being late! His eyes follow me around, like my dad used to.

So who is the winner? Cast your vote now. Voting is open until 9/17/08
