Proposed Library Lane Village

The five-acre property in the central business district of Burlington next to the Library is still proposed to be the new Burlington center.

The proposal was initially offered in May of 2017.

Proposed Library Lane Village

The property is on Rt 4 at the intersection of George Washington Turnpike and near Rt. 69 connection.

Burlington’s plan of development calls for the property to be the retail and commercial center of town.

The aptly named Library Lane has the town’s Library, little league field, church and multiple other businesses.

The town also owns an additional five acres for future municipal development.

The developer — Johnnycake Properties — plans to include public green spaces for farmers markets, town events and other community events.

The proposal calls for on and off-street parking, outdoor covered dining, and wide sidewalks buffered by parallel parking.

  1. I happen to like the current town center. Don’t think it needs to be ‘modernized” like every other small town center in CT. But then, again, I’m an old-timer.
