Dessert Stop Leads to a Sweet ‘$2,000 a Month For Life’ Payout

Lisa Nagy

Lisa Nagy of Easton goes out to dinner with her husband every Tuesday night. It’s a tradition for the happy couple. “One night a week—we’ve been doing it for a while now!” Little did Nagy know, a simple stop for dessert would bring about a “Win Up To $2,000 A Month For Life 2nd Edition” top prize!

Nagy told Lottery officials that her husband wanted to stop for ice cream on the way back from dinner. It was at that moment that Nagy said, “Can you get me one of the Win For Life tickets too?” After bringing the ticket home to play, Nagy was beyond surprised to see the “WIN FOR LIFE” symbol.

“Honey, I think I won!” Nagy exclaimed. “I was pleasantly surprised! I sent a picture to my friend and went back to the Retailer to use the Ticket Checker.”

After taking time to think about the prize options, Nagy decided to take the lump sum prize valued at $400,000. “I feel very very blessed! If I can do something good with [the prize], I hope to.” Nagy told Lottery officials that she will take care of the “normal stuff—bills” first.

Nagy’s top prize winning ticket was purchased at Stratfield Service Center located on 1271 Stratfield Road in Fairfield. For selling the ticket, Stratfield Service Center will receive a $6,000 check from the CT Lottery.

The overall chances of winning in the $1 “Win Up To $2,000 A Month For Life 2nd Edition” game are 1 in 4.45. Of the 5 top prizes in the game, 2 remain to be claimed.
