Animal Control

Animal control officers can be contacted at the Animal Shelter located on Vincent P. Kelly Road across from the Bristol Public Works Department or by calling (860) 584-3087.

If the call is an emergency, call the Bristol Police Department at (860) 584-3011.

The Bristol animal shelter is not equipped to pick up cats. If you have a stray or unwanted cat, contact the Connecticut Humane Society or call (860) 594-4502.

If you have a general wildlife problem such as a skunk in the yard or a bee’s nest, please contact the Department of Environmental Protection. or call (860) 424-3333.

BRIDGEPORT  — A  zoo is mourning the death of one of its beloved wild cats. Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport says Kuma, a 14-year-old Brazilian Ocelot, died Thursday. The zoo didn’t specify the cause of death, but said Kuma contributed greatly to the conservation of her species, which is related to pumas and lynxes.
