The Mum City is expecting the first accumulating snow of the season today.
Light snow will overspread Bristol through 10 AM-Noon. Steady snow is likely through the day, with the best chance of it sticking to the roads by mid to late afternoon as the sun gets lower in the sky.
Forecasters say the storm will produce 3″-5″ of snow.
Mayor Zoppo-Sassu said “Public Works spent Friday doing storm prep and getting the equipment ready. Crews came in at 7am since Snow was scheduled to start early. Private contractors are on call at this time as we await the beginning of the snowfall.”
The City has also enacted a snow ban until further notice.
“During snow, the winter parking ban is in effect. Residents should also remember that Public Works comes through and does a first pass to make all streets open, and then come back several more times to clean the streets and do the corners. People should wait to clear snow from their sidewalks and driveways until at least the second or third pass, depending on how much snow we receive.” said Zoppo-Sassu.
Residents have 24 hours from that conclusion of the storm event to remove snow from sidewalks.
Snow will not be too fluffy OR too wet, somewhere right in the middle and not too difficult to move.
Don’t expect any help from Mother Nature melting the snow either!
