Bristol Pizza Hut closes its doors after 40 years

Former Pizza Hut in Bristol Commons

Former Pizza Hut in Bristol Commons

Bristol Pizza Hut in the city’s Bristol Commons shopping center on Rt. 6 has abruptly closed.

The restaurant, posted no signs that the restaurant had closed down.

There’s no word on why it closed so suddenly.

Then Roundup made calls to the corporate office to track down more information. Those calls haven’t been returned.

The first Pizza Hut in Bristol was located in North Side Square in Rt. 6 and North Main Street. The location was a full service sit down restaurant which featured Pizza Hut’s iconic red roof.

The location is now occupied by a bank.

After corporate changes and a new business model, Pizza Hut dropped its full service restaurants and was re-branded as a take-out and delivery only restaurant.

When Bristol Commons built The Annex, Pizza Hut was one of the first tenants.

The corporate website has already removed the Bristol location.

The closest Pizza Hut is now located in Waterbury.

Pizza Hut was founded in June 1958 by two Wichita State University students, brothers Dan and Frank Carney, as a single location in Wichita, Kansas.
